topic of the weekplease login to add to this item ![]() Big Brother's Back (...again)Monday, 4 June 2007 Oh bugger. Here we go again. Every frigging night of the next ten weeks. Hours of it. The twists, the turns, the stereotypes, the bitching. No we're not talking a summer in Brighton but the return of Big Brother. Can we resist it? Has the sour taste from the last (washed-up) celebrity BB gone yet? Bullying is never acceptable no matter where you find it or how many viewers it catches in its childish mitts but will we be tutting on the other side of our face as long as the car crash TV is tuned in? And what will the BB bosses do to top the previous global crossing, parliament questioned series? Is girl power the answer? Who’s next in the firing line and will we continue voting no matter where the pennies are going? In seeking controversy BB always catches us. Question is can we withdraw? How can we not play the spot the queer dear as the intros are made? Is there room in our lives for further goody two-faces or are we simply gonna admire the décor? Were Brain, Anna and Nadia just past moments of gay glory we’ll never see again or are we about to fall for the next Josh? (Whatever happened to him?) Will our coffee tables groan once more under the weight of heat(ed) BB confessions or will we in the words of a Seventies kids TV programme turn of the telly and go do something far more interesting instead. One thing is certain. However it goes, whatever happens next, we’d better embrace the token gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans housemate. After all thanx to their disgrace, victory or forthcoming new single they’ll be appearing at a gay club near you very soon! your commentssaid by Timmy It just hasn't hooked me in like it did in previous series. They all seem the same to me, with the odd misfit hanging around the sides looking on with screwed up faces. But I am glad. I have a summer to myself. No matter how much I protested to the other series, I still had a morbid fascination to see if it had got any better. said by jimmegee I've been hooked to every single series previously, despite the nutters that populated all but series one. This time, however, I just can't be doing with all the screaming and showing off. These aren't real people, these are Big Brother fans who got on Big Brother. said by James Tried to get into this series, but as with all others, I tend to pick it up a few more weeks into it, when the guards are down a bit more and the editing team can get a little more creative with it. said by ian23 Channel 4 makes 15% of its revenues from Big Brother hence we are stuck with it every summer for the forseeable future... said by wildblood Well there maybe hope. BB made me laugh for the first time last night. "10.30am and BB has thrown a mini rave for Tracey in the diary room". Genius! Can we all have one? x said by Maximillian I tuned into Big Brother years ago to see the psychological games get played and how people's inhibitions and fences were to be torn up, re-routed or just plain abandoned. said by JustinK Unless the men going into the house in the future are outstanding, this show has had its day. said anonymously Ok, I feel I have to correct myself, having made the above comment. Having fallen into this show through friends tonight and while decorating and stuff, I think that tonight's episode (the one where Tracey and Charley are nominated) and the BBTV tasks was amazing. A brilliant episode, and now the game is getitng more interesting, now that we know THAT girl is FINALLY going. Chanelle won the entire room over out here, she said what everyone was dying to say... LOVED HER. LOL.

Well I'm guessing by the lack of response that Big Brother is leaving us cold.
A bitchfest of a programme already - with enough stereotypes to infuriate, yes... but as for entertaining? Where's the comedy? Where are the real characters? Never has the hair straightner been so boring!
Are more boys the answer? x
