topic of the weekplease login to add to this item ![]() Bye Bye Blair!Monday, 25 June 2007 A fond farewell or a hearty good riddance? Wednesday 27th June 2007 sees Prime Minister Tony Blair hand back his keys for Number 10. So should we give him his deposit back or has he inflicted too much damage on this country of ours? Will you be pleased to see the back of him or will you not even notice? Lady Thatcher’s dismissal way back when was greeted by equal amounts of cheers and tears but is Blair as emotive a leaver? How’s he been for you? Does the equal age of consent, employment equality and civil partnership make him a gay hero or does the erosion of civil liberties, the NHS and education aimed private finance initiatives and his love affair with all things Bush make him public enemy number one? Section 28 maybe gone thanks to his premiership but is his role in the so-called war on terror and the horrors of Iraq Blair’s true lasting legacy? So how will you bid ta-ta! to Tony? Will it be hankies at the ready, wishing we could turn back time or is Brown the only colour this country needs now? The past decade and all Blair has achieved – or under achieved depending on your point of view - has seen some momentous changes. One thing is for sure our lives will never be the same again. Question is are you thanking him – carriage clock presentation and all – or is he clearing his desk in shrouded in shame? your commentssaid by Rob TBH, I'm more excited about the Spice Girls getting back together! Who else is going on the 15th Dec?! said by MarquisHolmstreau On the whole I believe alot has been achieved by Blair & Co. It hasn't been a bed of roses, but then again when has it ever been?

Frankly, the only reason he's going and the only reason I decided never to vote Labour again is the Iraq invasion. We didn't want it, we went in on a lie and Blair told us that lie. Now it's a horrible disaster that has killed way more people than Saddam ever did.
I'm also uncomfortable at the way the entire government has been changed over without us having a new election.
