Decidedly Decadent...
review
We’d heard good things about Decadance (and no, we haven't spelt it wrong!) on the big gay grapevine and wanted to check it out for ourselves... so on a busy bank holiday we headed down to Vibes full of intrigue and anticipation.
Effort had certainly been made by the team, who clearly have vision and determination for this new monthly club night. 'Brighton style' clubbing came to mind as we were greeted at the door by the towering presence of Merlin and Skippy, the entertainers for the night. The feeling continued as we were dazzled by magic, shocked by the numerous boys in skimpy pants and stood in jaw-dropping awe of the angle-grinder action.
The soundtrack for the night was served up with expertise and passion. Ant Nichols (Kiss101), Martin Taylor (Hed Kandi, Singapore) and Dave Armstrong (Ministry of Sound) in Room 1, alongside Richie Tyson (Garlands) and Nathan Thompson (Cake) in Room 2 kept the club buzzing throughout.
The décor, the music, the drag queens, even the free ice pops came together to produce a fantastic atmosphere and with luck the support the night has already accrued will grow and grow as it truly deserves to. Check REALBristol.net for the next date for a bit of Decadance in the South West.
