Walking through the doors of the Queenshilling tonight, to capture and celebrate Paul Vincent’s proud 5 year stretch as owner of the club, we sensed much pride and joy that it’s still going strong after this long. As venues come and go in this present climate, its success and longevity in its reigning role at the head of the scene, really is testament to Paul and his stalwart staff. Having been around in Bristol for years, we’ve seen how the Queenshilling always has and hopefully always will very much part of the gay scene furniture; a comfortable yet stylish sofa if you will.

Celebrating this milestone at CORE, the night when Daniel Stone takes to the decks and looks most at home, seemed perfectly fitting. Accompanying the marathon mix of dance, funky house and electro, the lasers tonight well and truly won the wow factor and stopped us dead in our tracks on our snapping journey. Mesmerizing for minutes at a time, those lasers were the best we’ve seen in years!

Not to be outdone by the audio or visual mastery, the real shock and awe of the night was certainly Paul’s stripper organised by his lovely manager Danny. This stripper’s show was certainly not for the feint hearted or in our case the easily nauseous, so much so that we’ve hidden the particularly raunchy pics away in an ‘X-Rated’ story of their own. But if you were there and saw just what one man can do with a torch, a blindfold, a hell of a lot of cream and a very smiley club owner, then you’ll know just what a memorable night it was.
